Q: How long does a tattoo take to heal?
A: Approximately 2-3 weeks.
Q: How much does it cost for a tattoo?
A: Our shop rate is $140 an hour, and we have an $80 minimum. This means that anything that takes 30 minutes or less is the minimum cost.
Q: Why do I have to leave a deposit?
A: When making an appointment, we require a minimum of $60. This money is to secure your appointment time with the artist, as well as a deposit for the drawings the artist is working on for your tattoo. If you cancel your appointment without a 24 hour notice, your deposit is non-refundable and a new $60 deposit is required to make another appointment.
Q: Do you charge money for drawings?
A: Again, most drawings require a $60 non-refundable deposit, however, if a drawing is large, a back piece for instance, an artist may require up to $100-300 for a deposit. This money is non-refundable and pays for the artists’ time working on the art piece.
Q: Do you reuse your needles?
A: Absolutely not. All needles that are used in the studio are single use only and each needle is contained in sterile packaging before use. Once the needle has been used it is placed in a biohazard container.
Q: How is your equipment cleaned?
A: All of our equipment that comes in contact with skin is covered with a plastic barrier After each tattoo procedure, the station area is disinfected with hospital grade disinfectants. We use all disposable needle and tubes, tips and grips. that all come pre-sterilized.
Q: Where is the most painful place to get a tattoo?
A: There is no single most painful place to get tattooed. While some places may be more tender than others, it really depends on the person. If you are thinking about getting a tattoo, do not base your decision on the “least painful” place to get it. A tattoo is permanent, but the discomfort of getting it is quite brief, so it is a better idea to think of the place you would like to have the tattoo for the rest of your life, and get it there.
Q: Is it OK to drink alcohol before getting a tattoo?
A: The state of Washington prohibits a tattoo artist to work on anyone that appears to be under the influence, or not of sound mind and body. Other factors of tattooing someone who has been drinking includes the thinning of the blood, which makes the procedure more difficult and the resulting tattoo can be affected.
Q: Can I just come in to the shop, or do I have to make an appointment?
A: We do not require that you make an appointment. However, we take walk-ins only if somebody is available. Most of our clientele is appointment based and we recommend making an appointment in order to secure your time to be tattooed. We understand that sometimes a tattoo is a spur of the moment idea and it is fun to be spontaneous. We will try to accommodate walk-ins as much as possible. It is always a good idea to give us a call before coming down to see if an artist is available for walk-ins.
Q: Can I bring in my own drawings? Do you tattoo flash?
A: We welcome a client to bring in their own drawings and/or resources. We will usually modify the art to make it tattoable, whether that is making it larger, or changing the design a bit. Even though we do not have flash on our walls at the shop, we can tattoo flash if that is what the client wants.
